Eggs and cheese are considered to be a breakfast meal. Feta cheese can be served with tahini and olive oil or tomatoes and cucumber. Eggs can be scrambled with cheese or foul. It can also be boiled and sprinkled with salt and pepper. The traditional Egyptian cheeses are Roomy hard cheese and white cheese. The second one usually is very salted. Especially in the more southern parts of Egypt which are very hot.

All milk products are traditionally produced freshly by small milk shops, that offer usually fresh buffalo milk, white fresh cheeses, and dessert like milk pudding (mahalabeyya) or milk rice.
